JOIN THE REVOLUTION

9/11, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, terrorists, rogue politicians, divorce, violent video games, STDs, poverty, joblessness, anger, hurt, frustration, meaninglessness, addiction, abuse, sadness, war. ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s time for a revolution… huge changes…  a totally different way of doing life. This isn’t some political cliché or cosmetic  façade. This is a call for those who call themselves Christians to truly live the Christian life. Do you say that you really love Jesus? Then do it! Do you honestly want to live with God at the center of your life? Then quit making excuses. Do you want better relationships, better marriages and better families? Do you want to make a difference in other people’s lives for the good? Then join the revolution.

This is a revolution of unbridled love, peace, joy , hope, kindness, and generosity. It calls for a new community of faith, a willingness to bend over backwards to help your brothers and sisters, a passion for God’s Word (the Bible), a commitment to meet with God each day in honest prayer, and a consistent witness as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Don’t settle for less. Call on the Holy Spirit. Don’t rest until you’ve found in yourself a fiery faith that won’t give up and won’t let down. Become that new creation God has called you to become. Spur one another on to faith and good deeds. Join the revolution… join the revolution… join the revolution,                                  JOIN THE REVOLUTION!!!!

to make a difference at church and go for it! Serve like crazy!!

CLIFF’S NOTES: THE REVOLUTION OF LOVE AND LIGHT

Let the revolution to begin! Personally, I’ve had it with lukewarm Christianity, compromised faith and just livin’ for God when it’s convenient. When I first signed-up to follow Jesus my faith was white-hot. God’s love just bubbled over in my life. I couldn’t sleep until I’d studied His Word, spent time in prayer, encouraged other believers and told the world about the Good News of Jesus.  Interestingly, that’s the way I feel today. And more than feelings, those are still my convictions today.

I want to challenge you to join the revolution… the Jesus  revolution of love and light. This broken down old world has enough darkness in it. It’s time to shine the light of God’s love all around. So here are a few short tips for joining the revolution…

  • Start reading the Bible and praying every day at a set time.
  • Arrive early to church so that you can greet others and build-up the Body of Christ.
  • Pray instantly for others… your family, your friends, people at church… as soon as a need is expressed.
  • Determine where you are going
  • Start telling (and showing) others about the love of Jesus… invite them to church, a Bible Study and to join the love revolution!
  • Stop watching foolish, even sinful movies and video games that fill your mind with violence and lust. Start filling your heart and mind with the words of Philippians 4:8,
whatever is true...noble... right… pure… lovely… admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Love in Jesus -    Pastor Cliff

  • A person to sand and stain bulletin boards

We have received many kind donations of furniture over the past year and a half. Recently the Hoffman’s donated a leather couch, love seat and chair, the Brehm’s contributed a microwave and Goettel’s a lovely couch. Thank you for your kindness.

WATERED GARDENS

Something had to change. Trish couldn’t do it anymore. Drug abuse in her house had reached an intolerable point. Fleeing, heart-broken she arrived in Joplin last week with little to her name. She had enough to get into a small apartment but without necessities. Your donations provided dishes, towels, and cooking supplies. More importantly, a compassionate volunteer that met with her asked about her relationship with Jesus. She began to weep, releasing her burden at the foot of the cross. Minutes later she surrendered her life to the One who is able to change it all. It is this end for which we strive… the Gospel of Jesus Christ transforming us.

Love- James and Marsha Whitford
