 New (to us) Building!

At long last New Creation will be moving into a new facility. Hurray! God has blessed us with a 24,000 square foot building at 19th and Connor with a lovely sanctuary, offices, classrooms, and fellowship areas. This is amazing when you stop to think that we've only been in existence for about ten months!

In case you are wondering, we have very reasonable terms of lease with an opportunity to renew for a second year, at the same rate, if we so choose. Interestingly, it's been said that our cost per square foot is almost entirely unheard of in Joplin.

We'll be able to move into our new building on or before December 1st. This will give us a terrific opportunity to personally invite our friends and neighbors to join us in worship during Advent and Christmas.

During the month of November we've been granted the joyful privilege of remaining at the Good News Productions Chapel. This will provide us with a wonderful opportunity to prepare ourselves for a significant public launch. To this point in time, we've been relatively quiet in the larger Joplin community. Once we go public we're going to need be prepared not only for personal evangelism, but to further develop what happens on Sunday mornings as well as small groups. In fact, we'll be holding a series of planning sessions to coordinate our team effort. We will need everyone to participate.

We're on an exciting spiritual adventure friends! We can thank God for a new place for ministry over the next year or so... but keep in mind... the best is yet to come!!!

Picnic This Sunday!

The Gospel Bird is back! Yep, that's right, this Sunday following worship New Creation will celebrate the beginning of our last month at the Good News Productions Chapel with a picnic. We'll have fried chicken, taters and all of the other goodies that you will bring along. Please bring a salad, veggie, or dessert to share. Don't forget a lawn chair. We'll provide the drinks, chicken, taters, cups, plates, napkins and flatware.

Fresh From The Garden

We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev 12:11). Our testimony is more than a personal memorial. It instills hope for all those who hear it. That's what happened when "Dave" heard Mike share his testimony at the Garden recently. Struggling with the occult, drug use, and chronic alcoholism in his family, "Dave" felt a spark of hope for change that Sunday morning in the Upper Room. He responded by joining a local  men's discipleship group and he "cleaned house" bringing us all the things that he's now forsaking.  "Burn it all," he said.

We ask two things. First please pray for this young man. Secondly, share your testimony. You never know how God will use it to inspire someone else.

"Comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."  (2 Cor 1:4)

New Creation Building Fund

Many hands make light work..." So goes the old saying. In anticipation of our first significant move New Creation has started a special fund to assist with the cost of our new facility. Your generous contribution will go a long way toward insuring our long-term stability and vibrant growth.

Some of us have an ability to give more and some less, but we all have the ability to give something. No gift is too small. All gifts will be valued equally.

This is a fund which may be designated for "Connor Ave location" or "future location." The choice is yours. Simply mark it in the notation.

Please ask God for guidance as you consider your role in this vital endeavor.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart is also."

Matthew 6:21

The Persecuted Church in India

Pastor Cliff recently received this troubling e-mail from missionaries in India... "We've never seen anything like this.  We knew Orissa was the most resistant & hostile State in India to the Gospel. And we brushed off the continuous threats & harassment we faced. But none of our staff imagined that they would see this kind of carnage....  And it seems to be totally under the radar of the Western Media ....
... A militant Hindu priest & 4 of his attendants, who were zealously going around the villages of Orissa & "reconverting" people back to Hinduism, were gunned down by unknown assailants in   Central Orissa  last weekend.  Immediately the Christians were blamed. The cry rose up..."Kill the Christians!" And the horror began.... In the past 4 days, we have first hand witness to hundreds of churches being blown up or burned & many, many dozens of Christian tribals have been slaughtered. For no other reason than they bear the name of Christ. Night & day I have been in touch with our Good News India Directors spread across 14 Centers in Orissa... they are right in the middle of all this chaos. In Tihidi, just after the police came to offer protection, a group of 70 blood-thirsty militants came to kill our staff & destroy the home. They weren't allowed to get in, but they did a lot of damage to our Center  by throwing rocks and bricks & smashing our gate, etc. They have promised to come back and "finish the job." Our kids and staff are locked inside and have stayed that way for the past 3 days... desperately calling on the Lord in prayer.
mass funeral there, but for His grace. "

The rest of the e-mail mentions more than 5,000 Christian homes & churches have been burned and hundreds of Christians (men, women and children) slaughtered. Please pray!
