SIGNS OF THE TIMES
Advent is a time of waiting and watching. Biblical prophecy offered signs as to when and where the Messiah would be born. The three wise men searched for signs pointing to the birth of a great king and they followed it.
New Creation Church exists today because of our Great King Jesus Christ. We believe that all the biblical signs point to Him as Messiah.
This Advent we also celebrate the birth of New Creation Church. We even have a new sign to point the way to New Creation. And while it isn't nearly as spectacular as our Savior's star it is significant in that it helps us lead others to our precious Lord Jesus Christ.
As we move into our new building we begin with Sparkle Week... we are preparing our facility for a new ministry. On Wednesday evening December 3rd we will have a pizza dinner followed by prayer and service in order to dedicate our building to the Lord's work.
We are asking that all regular attenders to New Creation begin showing up early. We need people to great new comers. Our a/v tech people need to be at the church no later than 9:30 a.m. Worship team members need to be at the church by 8:45 a.m. Nursery people need to be at the nursery at least 20 minutes ahead of time to welcome our new little ones.
Please help New Creation get off to a great start in our new location. We want to begin and end in as timely a manner as possible... another sign of the time! While it may seem inconvenient you'll find that everyone will be greatly encouraged!
CHRISTMAS CAROLING AND CANDY CANE PROJECT
December 14th 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Meet @ New Creation for neighborhood caroling. Bring the whole family! We'll be handing out candy canes with the candy cane story & an invitation to worship with us. Hot chocolate @ cookies afterwards.
We'll have hundreds of extra candy canes & invites available for you to hand out to your friends, family & neighbors. Pick them up @ the church office after December 1st.
This is one very friendly, tangible way to spread the good news of Jesus to our community. Don't be concerned about the quality of your voice... just the level of your joy!
Cliff's Notes: GIVING THANKS
As I write this note to you, savory smells of turkey roasting in the oven are wafting into the room. Ahhh... Thanksgiving... nothing like it! Today we'll watch parades and play football and eat... and eat... and eat!
There will be a more important time, however, when I find a quiet spot in the day and take time to thank Him for his many blessings. One great blessing is obviously New Creation Church! What a joy it is to be your pastor. How delighted I am by your joyful, faithful, dedicated spirit! I thank God for people who sing on the praise team, who help with parking, who teach Sunday School, who cover the nursery, who provide for the hospitality table, who tie notes to candy canes, who hand out brochures with packets of popcorn, who decorate for events, who participate in small groups, who clean up after everyone, who serve as elders, who share Jesus with others, who volunteer at Watered Gardens, who volunteer for just about anything and everything,
who serve as clerk of session, who, participate in worship, who greet at the door, who design powerpoint, who lead youth, who make cookie dough, who prepare the sanctuary for worship, who donate wonderful things for the new building, who give generously, who pour courage into other people's hearts, who love and love and love and love.
New Creation...
... I THANK GOD FOR YOU!
Love in Jesus -

SPARKLE WEEK
Word on the street is that the folks of the Christian Life Center are doing a good job cleaning the facility at 19th and Connor Avenue. Even so, we need folks to help with make the place really sparkle! We also need help with decorating, painting and organizing. The church will be open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
If you would like to work on a special project and want to come fully prepared call ahead and speak with Pastor Cliff.
Don't forget that our congregation will be holding a pizza dinner at 6pm followed by prayer and service projects.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please remember New Creation in your daily prayers. Thank God for...
- bringing Chris Larson through very difficult surgery with flying colors!
- for our new church home
- for the many opportunities He has provided us for ministry and evangelism
- for the many people at New Creation who willingly serve
Ask that God would...
- heal Becky Browne's back
- be at the center of our President-elect's leadership
- help the children of our community who suffer from twice the level of neglect and abuse than the rest of Missouri.
- bless our efforts with the caroling and candy cane outreach
- bless Amanda & Joseph as they lead the Jr & Sr High Sunday School Class
- Bless our college student ministry at MSSU
- ignite our congregation in faith and good deeds as we expand our witness in the community
- cause our hearts to pound with love for Him & each other
- Help those at New Creation who are hurting financially
- raise up a generation of leaders in America who are known for honesty, integrity and true faith in Christ.
- be so central in our lives that our joyful relationship with Him would overflow to our families, friends and neighbors
WHERE CAN I VOLUNTEER?
New Creation is heavily dependent on volunteers. We not only need volunteers, but believe that healthy churches engage every person in specific ministry service. Many churches suffer from the "Pareto Principle" where 20% of the people do 80% of the work. Oh, may it never be so about the people of New Creation!
Please consider serving in the following areas:
Sunday Mornings:
- Nursery Team
- Parking Welcome Team
- Indoor Greeter/Usher Team
- Hospitality Team
- Sunday School teacher
- Praise Team
During the Week:
- Youth Group volunteer team
- Church Office team
- Small Group Leader
- Custodial Assistance (we're asking everyone to play a part)
Please tell Pastor Cliff or Jean about the area where you would like to serve.
BIRTHDAY PARTY MINISTRY
Have you ever stopped to wonder how many children in this world never have their birthday celebrated? Believe it or not many children in our own community have never had a single birthday party! Some families simply can't afford one.
Thanks to Beth Hanschu, we've discovered some very inexpensive ways to throw parties for children under 12 along with a few of their friends. It's a great way to tangibly show the love of Jesus to kids and their parents while at the same time connecting them to New Creation Church.
We've already been drawing up some preliminary guidelines and strategies. Even so, we want your input. We also need volunteers to help us with this wonderful opportunity!
Imagine the smiles on children's faces when they see just how special they are to their friends, to the church and most of all to Jesus Christ. This is an exciting time! Plan on joining in the fun!!
