ARISE! CRY OUT!!!
“Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.” - Lamentations 2:19
Dear friends, it’s time! If ever there was a season in our nation’s history and city when children were desperate for the prayers of mothers it is now. Families are falling apart, child abuse is at an all time high, schools have evicted God, and our nation has lost its moral compass. In this desperate era the Spirit of God calls out to women everywhere to “Arise! Cry Out!”
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14th women all across the world will be joining together to pray for children and schools. In Joplin the only church hosting this event is New Creation Church from 9am –1pm. It is our prayer that women from all over our area will invite their friends for an intense four hours of prayer, worship and encouragement.
For more information, please contact Karen Brock at 417-438-3608 or Jennifer Dunn at .
This event is sponsored by Moms in Touch International, Revive our Hearts, FullFill, Mothers of Preschoolers, Hearts at Home and the Praying Life Foundation.
See you there!!!!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
This year millions of children all across the world will receive Christmas gifts perhaps for the first time! The youth of New Creation Church are coordinating our efforts to put together as many shoeboxes as possible loaded with good things for children living in poverty. Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse. To pack a box follow these instructions:
1. Pray for the child who will receive your gift
2. Use a plastic box (about the size of a shoe box. Please wrap the lid and box separately. (don’t seal)
3. Determine if this is for a girl or a boy & child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14. Mark the age category on the label & tape it to the lid.
4. Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will delight a child. (small toys, hygiene items, candy, gum, extra batteries etc.)
5. Include a donation of $7– or more for each box to help w/shipping
6. Drop off your boxes at New Creation no later than NOV 22nd.

CLIFF’S NOTES: GIVING THANKS IN TOUGH TIMES
I don’t know too many people who haven’t felt the effects of the economic troubles of our nation. In our fair city alone there we have seen the poverty rate rocket from about 30% to 40%. Times are tough, children are often hungry, and many are doing without the usual extras that we’ve come to enjoy. Christmas isn’t far off and it looks like there won’t be much under the tree for a lot of families.
Even so, we have a great deal to be thankful for at New Creation. We have a church family who really cares about people. I have never seen anyone in trouble who isn’t loved on and given whatever assistance we can afford. People in our congregation bend over backwards to be kind, thoughtful and generous. I also see a church that doesn’t make a show of things. We aren’t cliquish or condescending. We willingly offer our shoulders to cry on, our words to encourage and our prayers to uplift. Truthfully, I couldn’t ask for a more spirited congregation. Your great enthusiasm spurs me and so many on. When you see a need you try to meet it. When asked to serve or volunteer we always have people willing to step up to the plate. You’re not reluctant to give of yourselves. How much I thank and praise God for you!
On a personal note, Jane and I are deeply grateful for the kindness you showed us during Pastor’s Appreciation Month. Thank you all for your love and blessings!
With Deep Love in Christ
-Pastor Cliff
STEPPIN’ OUT
Whoa!!!!!!!! Isn’t it constantly amazing to see the great things God is doing at New Creation Church??
If you haven’t met Nikki (aka “Porshe) you’re really missing out! This very talented, enthusiastic young woman has been volunteering with our youth and children’s ministries for some time now. Nikki comes to us from Shreveport, Louisiana and now lives with Charles and Barbara Cunningham. She has recently started working at Hastings and hopes to start at OCC this winter.
To make a long story short Nikki has stood up and stepped out for Jesus with a group of young middle schoolers as she has formed a “step, drill and stomp” team. Ever heard of one of those before? Yep, they drill, the memorize Scripture, they dance, an march and worship God with all of their hearts. As part of their commitment, these young ladies are required to participate in worship, Sunday School and youth group. Truly, they are fabulous!
So get fired up!! You’ll be seeing a lot more of them in worship soon!
ON BLESSINGS AND PIGGY MESSES
O yuk!!! Have you ever wandered thru the church building enjoying our spacious facility when suddenly you come upon a plate of some unknown substance covered with ants? Yik! It happens! Or maybe you find gum wrappers or cookie crumbs or toilet paper or food or paper bits strewn about as if a minor twister hit the inside of our facility. Shocking to think that such a thing could ever hit the inside of New Creation Church. Perhaps it’s swine flu? No it’s just someone’s thoughtless piggy mess. Yep, that’s right. Someone didn’t clean up after themselves.
It’s a blessing to have so many new people and activites around New Creation, but did you know that our pastor spent five hours cleaning our facility before driving to Chicago the other day? He shouldn’t have had to do that, but the place was a pit and we don’t have a custodian. He woke up at 4:00 a.m. just to finish projects that had to get done before he left town because he had to clean-up after others.
Friends, we need you to join the ranks of thoughtful people and clean-up after any programs you participate in. In fact, we need volunteers to offer fifteen minutes or so every Sunday after worship and other programs during the week to pick-up, vacuum and clean surfaces. If you can volunteer during the week call ahead and we’ll get you some cleaning supplies. Your kind assistance is a blessing!
VACUUM CLEANER NEEDED
Yikes! Have you ever attempted to find a vacuum cleaner at New Creation Church??? We have two vacuums for 24,000 square feet of space!! Who knows where one of those fine little machines may be lurking about?
If you happen to have an extra vacuum cleaner that functions pretty well or would like to purchase one on behalf of the church it would be a wonderful blessing to all who are of the mind that cleanliness is next to godliness… or at least don’t like ants and rodents roaming about our facility.
Please speak to Jean or Pastor Cliff if you are able to help us out with this item.
RUMMAGE SALE 2010
You heard it right! Our last rummage sale was such a success that we are starting to collect items now for next year. Clothing, furniture, appliances, tools, toys, gold bullion you name it… we’re collecting it!
All such items will be stored in one of the side rooms off the large “ping-pong table room” to the north of the kitchen. So don’t throw your stuff away or let it collect in the garage or attic. We promise to put your stuff to good use. In fact, if we find things that can be useful around the church we’re not ashamed to say that we’re gleaners! See Miss Jean if you would like to drop off some items.
THANKSGIVING WORSHIP SERVICE
Tuesday evening November 24th
New Creation Church will hold Thanksgiving worship service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a fellowship dessert at 7:45 p.m. Please invite your friends and families for a traditional evening of gratitude and praise.
Please plan on bringing a pie to share!
WOMEN’S MINISTRY TEAM
New Creation Church has been growing by leaps and bounds this fall. This is fantastic news!
With growth comes new joys and responsibilities. Many of the women of New Creation have agreed that it’s time to start organizing to undergird many of the valuable ministries that have been springing into existence. This is why we’re getting the word out about the new Women’s Ministries Team. This ministry is not only designed to strategically support the overall ministries of the church, but also to encourage, inspire and strengthen the needs of women in our congregation.
Please contact Sharon Sherrod (417-438-2839 ) for more information as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity!
CHRISTMAS PARADE
Imagine a beautiful parade float honoring the Lord Jesus Christ between marching bands making its way down main street in Joplin. Can you see our new drill team marching in front of the float and friends from New Creation friends tossing candy out to the crowds with a big banner that invites people to our church? It’s no longer a dream… it’s a reality.
This year New Creation will, for the first time ever, enter a float in the Christmas parade… December 1st. Our college, youth and step team will be heading up the décor of the float along with any other willing volunteers. It should be a lot of fun!
We not only need volunteer decorators, but we also need folks who will ride the float and hand out candy. If you are able to contribute candy please drop it off at the church office. See Miss Jean if you would like to participate in any way.
Dan and Beth Hanschu have willingly loaned us their trailer and Scott Brehm has said that we can store it at his facility down. Thanks guys!

Jesus once said, “let the little children come to me and do not hinder them.” We consider children to be very precious at New Creation. We are blessed with strong leadership and care in the nursery. We would like to expand our volunteer base, however, and create a consistent rotation. If you would like to volunteer in the nursery please see Karen Brock. to get in the rotation.
